PUT IT ON THE SHELF

As we all know, I do not have an unlimited budget. A lot of times I have to be a savvy shopper to make my retail dreams come true, which often includes stalking items via the inter-webs until they go on sale. It can be a LOT of work. But there is an easier way!

The Shelf is a new website that acts as a shopping genie of sorts. It keeps track of, and organizes, the items you are lusting after (almost like a Pinterest board). It provides an endless list of promo codes and sales alerts. But more than that, the Shelf can notify you via email when an item goes on sale (or falls within the price range which you specify). It pretty much takes the leg work out of shopping!

Check out the much more eloquent explanation in the video below, and then head to the site to build your own Shelf!

P.S. Be sure to follow me, and a bunch of other bloggers on The Shelf to see what we are shopping for! Just click on "Top Shelvers" under the "Trending" tab.

*All opinions expressed in this post are my own, and are in no way sponsored by The Shelf. Just a bit of promotion for a site that I'm loving!

RAINY DAY

Shirt: Vintage, Jeans/Umbrella: Target, Bangles(old): Express, Earrings: Forever21, Shoes(old): Worthington via JCPenney,
Gold Ring: Stella&Dot, Knuckle Ring: FromBrooklynWLove, Necklace: Shane Company, Bag: Michael Kors via TJMaxx

Every time I stepped out the door to take pictures it started to rain. I'm not usually a girl to be bothered by a little drizzle, but today I wanted to be extra careful to protect my new baby (aka my new Michael Kors bag). Considering that my style budget isn't exactly (or not at all) designer friendly, I am beyond thrilled to add this beauty to my collection, after shamelessly stalking her (a bag would probably be a "she", right?) for weeks. I am beyond smitten, so be prepared to spot her in a ton of looks in the future!

P.S. So many rain themed songs swirling through my head today... I thought about doing a few Singing in the Rain inspired puddle jumps, but decided I better not chance getting the bag wet. I am reminded of the song Rain Drops Keep Fallin' on My Head, by B.J. Thomas, which I have been told my dad would sing to me as a child (shocked that he actually knew the words). And I can't stop singing Rainy Days and Mondays by the Carpenters (I always loved Karen Carpenter because she was totally in my octave).

I WEAR THE PANTS

Bag: Marc Jacobs for Target, Pants(old): Zara, Shoes/Vest/Earrings: Target, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Shirt: Nordstrom,
Bracelet: Poshlocket, Gold Ring: Stella&Dot, Knuckle Ring: FromBrooklynWLove

After a couple solid weeks of summer-like weather a cold front is rearing its ugly head. Which is fine, because it gives me a chance to take some pants for a spin before the temperatures truly start to soar... Perfect timing too, because the super stylish Sasha over at Moiology is hosting a Military Wear link-up of sorts, the perfect excuse to style these trousers (again). All you have to do to join the fun is take a military inspired selfie, and post it on Instagram using the hashtag #moiology and tag @sashai. All of the photos will be featured on her blog sometime this week!

P.S. I cannot wait to get my hair cut this week! The top part of my hawk is so long that I can't get it to stand up, thus the side swept bang thing. Although this style is somewhat edgy too, I miss my signature mohawk.

MIDAS TOUCH

Bag: Marc Jacobs for Target, Skirt: Target, Shoes: Tommy Hilfiger via TJ Maxx, Shirt(similar)/Necklace: Forever21,
Gold Ring: Stella&Dot, Knuckle Ring: FromBrooklynWLove, Pinky Ring: Roman Luxe

I used to only wear silver jewelry. I don't know why, but I always preferred the white stuff to its shiny yellow counterpart. But then one day I decided I would give gold a shot, and well, I haven't looked back. In fact, my jewelry wall (Yes, a wall in my closet covered in necklaces. Don't judge.) is dripping with gold, a wisp of silver hardly to be seen. Add a golden clutch and a pair of Midas touched sandals to the mix and my collection of gold accessories is complete.

P.S. I have said before that I don't wear crop tops. But I have been working hard for the past few months to be bikini ready (dieting and working out ain't easy folks), and after dropping ten pounds I finally have the confidence to jump on the midriff baring bandwagon. Perfect timing too, since things are starting to heat up around here!

Have a great weekend everyone!
